Christian Encarnacion-Strand's breakout with Orioles makes Nick Krall look even worse

The Cincinnati Reds designated Christian Encarnacion-Strand for assignment in April before trading him to the Baltimore Orioles for cash considerations. After spending time at Triple-A Norfolk, Encarnacion-Strand was called up to Baltimore on July 16 and has since produced at the plate, batting .264/.301/.519 with seven home runs and 27 RBIs in 31 games while posting a 124 wRC+. The Orioles have climbed to within 2½ games of the AL Wild Card spot, while the Reds remain nine games out of playoff contention, prompting criticism of general manager Nick Krall's decision to let the infielder go.
