Kent Emanuel Accepts Outright Assignment With Reds

The Reds designated left-handed pitcher Kent Emanuel for assignment on August 17 after he made a spot start against St. Louis, allowing two runs on five hits and four strikeouts over his appearance. Emanuel cleared waivers three days later and accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A Louisville rather than pursue free agency. The 34-year-old journeyman has pitched in parts of three major league seasons across the Astros and Marlins, compiling a 4.46 ERA with 17 2/3 innings pitched for each team.
