Terry Francona favorite lands with Diamondbacks after truncated Dodgers' run

Santiago Espinal signed a minor-league deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks after being designated for assignment by the Los Angeles Dodgers. The former All-Star had played for the Cincinnati Reds in 2024 and 2025, where manager Terry Francona valued his defensive abilities despite poor offensive production, including a .243 batting average in 2025. Espinal was released by the Texas Rangers before joining Arizona to finish the 2026 season.
